Cory Myers

1) Name & position (have you held any other position while working at Legion?)

Cory Myers,Production Manager.I originally started with legion as a delivery driver back in 2017. I also used to sling beers in the taproom at one point as well.After driving for a year I worked my way up to distribution and warehouse manager and now recently transitioned into production manager.

2) How long have you’ve been with Legion?

I joined Legion back in October of 2017 when we only had one location. Crazy how time flies when you are having fun.

3) Where did you work before Legion?

Legion was my first full time job straight out of college.I took a summer after graduating from Appalachian state to figure out what I wanted to do.Little did I know I would end up at one of the best breweries in the QC. While at App State,I worked for theTown of Boone at an awesome cultural and community center called The Jones House. Most of my time there was spent setting up for concerts or events on their awesome front lawn.

4) What is your favorite thing about working for Legion?

Besides getting to work with beer everyday! Definitely the people that work for this company.Being able to work with like minded people who share a love for the same craft is awesome.I couldn’t imagine Legion without them!

5) What is your favorite Legion beer (current or old)?

Do I have to pick one?I am a sucker for sours.I could definitely drink my weight in supernova.

6) What is your favorite food item from Legion?

again do I have to pick one?I have always loved our banh mi at plaza.Another amazing thing about legion is the food our kitchens put out. They fuel the brewhouse to help us make all the delicious Juicy Jay.

7) What are your hobbies and interests in your spare time?

Lately I have been really into riding my bike around all the greenway trails throughout charlotte. Its nice to take time and see some nature while still in the city. When I do get the chance to leave the QC you can finding me in a mountain stream fly fishing. While at App State I lived and breathed fly fishing. If I cant make it on the weekends you can definitely count on me in the brewhouse planning a trip with one of our brewers and Brother from another mother James Rutledge.

8) Where is your hometown/where did you grow up?

I was born and raised in Raleigh, NC. It was fun, but after 18 years I needed a change of scenery. I hear their brew scene is growing like charlotte!

9) Tell me about your family! What do your parents do? Do you have a BFF? Any siblings? 

My parents both just retired and moved up to Asheville, NC.Another great city to explore the beer scene.I also have an older brother Alex Myers, who actually works for Legion as one of our sales reps.He is the one who introduced me to the craft beer scene and Legion. I would not be where I am if it wasn’t for him.

10) Do you have any pets? What are their names?I 

do not have any pets, maybe one day? I am a fur uncle to the cutest lil pupper named chorri. She is SOOO CUUUTTEEE!

11) What is your favorite thing about the QC?

I really enjoy how there are so many different neighborhoods all with their own unique vibe. Its always great getting out and exploring all the breweries that charlotte has to offer.

12) If you could compare yourself to any dessert, what would you be? 

Chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream.There is never a bad time for ice cream and if you leave us both out in the QC summer sun we will melt.

13) Do you support any local organizations/causes?

As an avid fly fisher and beer enthusiast I am all about clean water.Its really awesome to see the company I work for help support causes I am passionate about. Keep our beer clean https://www.legionbrewing.com/crf

14) If you won the lottery, what would be the first thing you’d buy? What is the craziest thing you’d buy?

I would definitely buy an island in the Bahamas.Ever since I had the chance to fly fish around Eleuthera island I’ve been itching to go back. Who wouldn’t want to live in paradise everyday?

15) Say you’ve been given an elephant. You can’t give it away or sell it. What would you do with the elephant?

I would totally use the elephant as my personal uber. Imagine how baller that would be to show up at a bar on an elephant, am I right?

16) What makes you smile?
what doesn’t make me smile? I am a child at heart and like to keep things around legion fun and interesting. I am always up for a good meme or joke. If you have any send them my way!
  

17) What’s your favorite 90s jam?

After a few drinks I can pretty much recite all the lyrics to Just a friend by Biz Markie.   

18) What’s the last gift you gave to someone? 

For mother’s day I bought my mom beer from one of her favorite breweries in Asheville. Think I might be the favorite son right now? 

19) Tell me a random fact  

I know how to juggle. Maybe me and that elephant could start our own circus?  

20) If you could describe yourself as a color, what color would you be?

Aqua Berry Blue, if you know you know.

Classy, boujie, ratchet.  
 
22) Who do you recommend as our next FOL highlight?  

Josh Robinson. He is full of stories about how everything is better in Ohio and could potential teach us some new lingo all the cool kids are saying these days.
