BIll Luckhurst

1) Name & position (have you held any other position while working at Legion?)

Bill Luckhurst GM Legion Southpark. I was front of house manager for a short time.

2) How long have you been with Legion?

Since July 2020

3) Where did you work before Legion? 

GM at Murphy’s Kitchen & Tap(Uptown next to Charlotte Knights Stadium)

4) What is your favorite thing about working for Legion?

I love the atmosphere in the place and teamwork with everyone. Already feels like a little family.

5) What is your favorite Legion beer (current or old)? 

Juicy Jay is my all-time favorite but I would trade it for Next Chapter if it was out all year long. 

6) What is your favorite food item from Legion? 

Pimento Cheese and Potato Pierogis. They are amazing!!

7) What are your hobbies and interests in your spare time? 

Golf is my biggest hobby but really anything I can do outside with family and friends. 

8) Where is your hometown/where did you grow up?

I grew up in a small town in Upstate New York called Owego. (not to be confused with Oswego)

9) Tell me about your family! What do your parents do? Do you have a BFF? Any siblings? 

I am married going on my 5th year with my wife Sally. We have a baby boy named Jack who is 16 months. My mom is a professor at Cortland University in New York in speech pathology. My dad is an Audiologist (deal’s with hearing issues). I also have 3 sisters. Two older and one younger. Growing up the only boy was rough sometimes but luckily my neighbors were boys and still my closest friends today. 

10) Do you have any pets? What are their names?

I have a French Bulldog named Wally.

11) What is your favorite thing about the QC?

I think the biggest thing I love about Charlotte is that you still have all the fun things a city has to offer but it has that small town feel. You can go anywhere and run into someone you know. 

12) If you could compare yourself to any dessert, what would you be? 

Some internet quiz said I was fried ice cream. I mean who doesn’t like fried ice cream??? 

13) Do you support any local organizations/causes?

Every girl scout cookie stand that I run into. I also try to do as much as I can with Cystic Fibrosis. I have some close friends that have a daughter dealing with CF so I try to help out anyway possible.

14) If you won the lottery, what would be the first thing you’d buy? 

What is the craziest thing you’d buy?  First thing I would buy is a plane ticket to Greece. Craziest thing would be a cruise ship for myself, family and friends. I would love to just travel around the world and see everything. 

15) Say you’ve been given an elephant. You can’t give it away or sell it. What would you do with the elephant? Ride it everywhere. To the store, work, etc. Nobody is going to stop you on an elephant.

16) What makes you smile? 

The belly laughs my son belts out.

17) What’s your favorite 90s jam? 

Was a big fan of Coolio’s Gangsta’s Paradise.

18) What’s the last gift you gave to someone? 

I gave my father-in-law a Yeti koozie that holds a 16oz can.

19) Tell me a random fact. 

I could climb into the top of a door jam and hang there as a kid. Like Spiderman.

20) If you could describe yourself as a color, what color would you be? 

Orange
